i have tried much weaker springs. and added lead to the arms. but no difference. i have version 2 arms. slightly heavier.
i have noticed when you push one arm outwards the adjacent arm it is attached to moves INWARDS. maybe this is why they are not so good. maybe a different anchor point for the spring to help pivot the arm outwards?

yes i tried it and if anything it was worse? how is that? its a mobylette 50v 1974 but ive fitted an AV10 motor with a parmakit 50mm top end.
i am gonna try it with no springs, crazy but im running out of ideas. i think because the pulley/c;utch speed is so slow compared to the crankshaft there simply isnt enough centrifugal force for this to work below 7000 rpm.

my only other idea is to get the clutch arms relined so they are within half a mm of the bell. at the moment they are 2.5mm away. or i might slick some friction material to the bell

maybe if i tried the er2 clutch arms fastened to the pulley. does the er2 have a lower rpm engagement point?
i see mir5 has replacement arms for the er86 only 16 euros. with thicker lining for better contact....

my arms now weigh 170 grams each. i just tried it with NO springs at all. and the engagement point is exactly the same and the bell got very hot to touch.
do i have to run the friction material in? bed it in or break it in? i dont know if this will translate?

i just tried it without springs to see what would happen. ive even tried it reversed lol.

maybe i need to run it for a while to get the lining worn to make better contact with the bell.
